Four Seasons Koh Samui: Sweet dreams are made of this

Sweet dreams are made of this; coconut trees stretch as far as your eyes allow them to, crystal-clear turquoise blue water reflecting the endless horizon above, where pure white satin sand beach is your private playground. This is definitely a homecoming, to our all-time favorite brand, Four Seasons. Koh Samui is where we call home for the week to celebrate our 8th year anniversary together on this romantic getaway.

Get ready for the kiss of the sun on your tanned skin, dozing all day on a hammock on water, feasting on mouth watering gourmet, savoring the perfectly blended cocktails by your very own infinity pool, sweating it up with private Muay Thai boxing classes and pampering yourself with flower-fragranced baths in the garden combined with a flowing massage. Follow us, this way.

Each arrival is marked with the sounding of a traditional gong. Upon our arrival we headed through an unassuming massive door that once opened, led us to this fantastic open-air platform boasting a panorama view of the lush green jungle, the pristine beach, and vivid clear blue sky and water of the mystical Gulf of Siam. Topped by the exquisite interior and exterior designs. Courtesy of Bill Bensley. That is when we realized that we have safely arrived in this paradise, our home away from home.

To say that Four Season Samui has the dreamy location is an understatement. Four Seasons Samui has the hands down, best location. This 42 acres estate is tucked away on the northwest coast of Koh Samui only 40 minutes ride from the airport.  This is truly an away from it all beachfront pool villas only resort set amid the stunningly beautiful Gulf of Siam. The property perfectly blends in with its marvelous natural environments; those tropical gardens, conserved coconut groves, this exotic island.

Our villa is spacious with its very own private terrace, large outdoor sofa with bright fluffy yellow pillows, sun deck, infinitely pool and Mr. and Mrs. private sinks with matching wardrobes. The villa is furnished with slick rich dark woods, crisp white walls, high ceilings, airy bathrooms, all brushed with fashionable shades of teal and baby turquoise. Once you throw yourself onto that big white bed, it is hard to recover from it. When we are not lounging all day in the villa, you can find us in these three places; CoCoRum bar, the beach, or the spa.

Sit back and relax by the pool while sipping the most exotic and authentic extensive selections of rum in Thailand at CoCoRum Bar.  In fact, this is Asia’s only rum vault! The highly recommended drink is El Presidente, the Cuban made famous cocktail that made its debut during American Prohibition from 1920s to 1940s in Havana. El Presidente at Four Season Samui is made from the first batch of rum aged and bottled here at the Vault.

Your journey to the estate cannot be completed without a tranquil visit to the forest spa. On our anniversary, Patrick surprises me with this hot oil message and the insanely beautiful flower-fragranced baths in the garden for two. It was so perfect. We feel rejuvenated. Another romantic experience that must not be missed is the once-in-a-blue-moon dinner, the magical celebration of private dining experience on the private cove.

What brings Four Seasons close to our hearts is not only the uniqueness and charms of each property but also its people. Service delivered is impeccable from concierge, buggy drivers, housekeeping and gardening team, spa Therapists, and to all the way to the waiters and waiters of every venue and restaurant.  There is not a single person who was not smiling and giving its best. We called this place home for a few days and we will surely be back for more.

Much love from Jibbie & Patrick
