Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay, Where The Mountains Meet The Sea

The car pulled in passing what looked like a ten feet tall Moroccan-influenced castle wall in deep purple hue. As the car stopped, we stepped out into a grand open-air Thai pavilion that literally sits on water and to make it more surreal, we were surrounded by 2000 candles that are all fully lit up. Each step we take walking from one stone to another is like walking on water; at the end the full hospitality team of Ritz Carlton awaits to give us a personal warm welcome to the property. “Welcome to Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay” where the mountain meets the sea, the voice echoed as the beautifully handmade flower garland made fresh purple orchid is being gently into our wrists. Then our butler quickly escorted us to our stunning Royal Andaman Sea Villa. Welcome to our home for the next 3 nights; come with us this way!

Our 588 square meter villa was gorgeous, featuring its very own infinity pool with hydro jets boasting marvelous floor to ceiling view of the Andaman sea, jasmine scented garden, large outdoor lounging area, huge daybed with matching cushions and dining area. His and her walk-in closets, sinks, makeup tables (which were flawlessly segmented mine is on the left and Patrick’s on the right), massive white linen bed but my all time’s favorite drum roll please, is the jaw dropping humongous bathtub that is again appeared to be on water with the surrounded tranquil pool of water! The best part is the water is already drawn topped with endless orchid flowers floating all around. The interior is equally beautiful, bright creamy marble floor against crisp white wall decorated with Thai murals and Moroccan lanterns.

Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay is overlooking the turquoise clear water and the Jame Bond’s made world famous ancient limestone sea stacks of Phang Nga Bay. This view never gets old. The downside of the resort is the rocky beach. However, the place also is very well maintained with perfectly manicured gardens, freshly painted villas, and squeaky-clean paths, no matter where you go. The most beautiful area for me (apart from our villa of course) is the main infinity pool and the near-by, specifically the swing in between the lush palm trees and each day the sun is setting just right in front of it making it the perfect place to be everyday at 6.00 PM! We were so lucky that we were all by ourselves every single day for 3 nights straight, so my suggestion to you is to stay in the pool during sunset while everyone goes for the sunset cocktail at Chomtawan so you can have the place literally for yourself!

One of many things we love here is the destination private dining experience, which we experienced each and every night. First, the Floating Breakfast at our Royal Villa, perfect for that laidback morning when you literally just wake up and walk 10 steps from your bed and take a dip into your private infinity pool and feast! Second, was the Reserve Picnic at Koh Hong, an idyllic island with its gorgeous lagoon located in the center, just 30 mins away from the resort. Perfect for that sunny day when you can relax under the tropical sun with delicious and picture perfect picnic baskets of fresh fruits, juices, pastries, and local Thai dishes. And third, the Barbecue Dinner on the Beach during Sunset (an absolutely romantic getaway within the resort property where your personal chef will create a personalized menu as you dine on the beach surrounded by candle lights with the sun setting from horizon into the sea as your mesmerizing backdrop. The pictures speak for themselves.  We had an absolutely great time at the Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay and we are very much looking forward to our future returns!
