Rayavadee Krabi: Railay’s hidden beachfront paradise

Sitting at the heart of a stunning peninsula on the edge of Krabi National Marine Park, in Railay, Krabi, Rayavadee is nestled in between lush green tropical gardens, surrounded on not-one-not-two-but three sides by pristine white sand beaches (Railay, Nammao, and Phranang Beach), crowned by dramatic limestone cliffs, crystal clear turquoise water of Andaman Sea, and exotic caverns and caves. Undoubtedly, this is one of Thailand’s finest beachfront properties and no need to say one of our all-time favorite. Waking up to the sound of monkeys, hearing the soft sounds of the waves touching the shore, feeling the gentle outdoor breeze as the sun warmly touches your face, pampering your style with sumptuous 75 mins spa, sipping Pina Colada as the sun kisses the horizon goodbye with the last beam of the golden hue, enjoying the romantic all candle lit dinner for two under the cave by the beach, and falling asleep under the stars to the sound of a thousand chirruping crickets, if you are ready for the all-out tropical indulgence, checking in this way.

Thailand radiance golden hue from its glittering temples to drop-dead gorgeous tropical white-sand-beaches to those exotic James Bond made famous islands to daily picture perfect sunsets. This place is no exception. The jungle-style mushroom shape pavilions are dotted among the natural fauna and flora of this stunning national park, featuring one of the most beautiful Instagram made famous “Phranang Beach” where cinematic limestone cliffs meet azure water. Getting there is made easy with numerous direct flights from Bangkok to Krabi. From the airport, we were picked-up from the chauffeur with 20 minutes private car ride to the pier, followed up 25 minutes of private speedboat ride to the resort.

Upon our arrival at Rayavadee, Railay welcomed us with his greatest charm; backdrops of dramatics limestone karats, clear turquoise water, three sides gorgeous white sand beaches, and the private cave that flirts with the ocean into the endless horizon. Coconut trees casted tropical shadow on the white sand as we walked into the resort. Lush green floral garden teaming up with tranquil ponds to form the perfect pathway to our Pool Pavilion villa. As we looked up our eyes meet with that of our neighbors, a family of Dusky Leaf Monkeys who were sitting peacefully on the branches of Bodhi tree in front of our villa. We like what we see the 3 x 8 meters private pool with spacious sun lodge and terrace setting in our mini jungle home, with wooden furnishings completing the luxury eco-friendly colonial-style vibe. We took the first dip to freshen up the day.

There are two options for breakfast venue. Our daily favorite is Railay Terrace, this beach front restaurant offers a la carte breakfast menu which blends Asian and Western cuisine together meaning that you can request heavy meal like Hainan Chicken Rice, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew all the way to western’s favorites like Egg Benedict, Croque Madam with shaved black truffle, Freshly made Belgian Waffles with fresh berries, and  Chia See Smoothie Bowls. Food is amazing here, you cannot leave the place stopping by “Krua Pharang” which offers Authentic Thai food with open air seating and view featuring breath stopping beach front view of Phranang Cave (Do yourself a favor by ordering these; Nua Yang Jim Jeaw, Gaeng Nua Yang Lam Yai Pai Chaploo, Gaeng Kai Yang Lychee) and by “Grotto” the hidden gem of Rayavadee, this ultra-romantic restaurant is nestled under an ancient limestone cliff on the edge of Phranang Beach offering Caribbean-like barbecue candle lit dinner. We are so obsessed with the place that we have decided to get married here. Yes, I think this pretty much sums up our true love not to Grotto but to Rayavadee as a whole. There is no other place like it. We are so excited to be making more beautiful memories here. In a place where we can sincerely say “Home Away From Home”. Until we meet again, and that will not be long.
