It is so good to be back, the last time was 8 year ago when we were celebrating our 1st year anniversary together. Despite the long gap between these visits, Soneva Kiri has always been one of our top favorite three resorts in Thailand. In fact, Soneva is also one of our top favorite chains; we have been to every single property ever built. At Soneva, we always find the simple life at its very best; the kind of barefoot luxury meets secluded lush green tropical paradise. One of many things we like about Soneva Kiri is the swift and the ease of the travel, with 80 minutes direct flight from Bangkok’s Suvarnnabhumi Airport on the resort’s private jet. Time flew by so quickly, we hovered over many different beautiful islands of the Gulf of Thailand, the scenery that you normally would never see from Bird’s eye view (as there is no flight to Koh Kood or even our neighbor islands like Koh Chang or Koh Mak. After cruising down the turquoise clear water via our private speedboat, upon our arrival on this idyllic island, we were welcomed by our Miss Friday (as butlers are called here) on the jetty. She said, “Welcome back”. Let the holiday begin!
Sitting at the heart of a stunning peninsula on the edge of Krabi National Marine Park, in Railay, Krabi, Rayavadee is nestled in between lush green tropical gardens, surrounded on not-one-not-two-but three sides by pristine white sand beaches (Railay, Nammao, and Phranang Beach), crowned by dramatic limestone cliffs, crystal clear turquoise water of Andaman Sea, and exotic caverns and caves. Undoubtedly, this is one of Thailand’s finest beachfront properties and no need to say one of our all-time favorite. Waking up to the sound of monkeys, hearing the soft sounds of the waves touching the shore, feeling the gentle outdoor breeze as the sun warmly touches your face, pampering your style with sumptuous 75 mins spa, sipping Pina Colada as the sun kisses the horizon goodbye with the last beam of the golden hue, enjoying the romantic all candle lit dinner for two under the cave by the beach, and falling asleep under the stars to the sound of a thousand chirruping crickets, if you are ready for the all-out tropical indulgence, checking in this way.
Hidden away in the splendid location of this private cove, nestled among the lush green tropical forest and charmingly manicured garden with its very own private beach, multi-tired reflection pools, and endless palm trees that stretch as far as your eyes allow it. Although within an eyeshot of the famous bustle and hustle Phi Phi Island (which we also love :)), Koh Lanta features charmingly calm clear blue seas, miles long white sand beaches, and stunning scenery both on and offshore (Oh Yes Paradise with Solitude Found!). The island is a true beauty hiding within the sea of Andaman with a touch of pure nature. Koh Lanta is also fairly known among European tourists as the hub for midrange to luxury holiday escape and it doesn’t get more luxury than that of the island’s first and ultimate 5 star resort “Pimalai”. Tucked away surreptitiously into 100 acres of lush green tropical forest on the edge of the ocean at the stunning Kantiang beach (with direct access to their 900 meters long pristine beach! goal!). If you are looking for luxury escape to the best-kept secret island that you can simply relax, unwind, and lose yourself to the serenity of luscious greenery and endless Andaman water, Pimalai is the place to be. Wanna check in with us to our Pimalai One Bedroom Pool Villa? Right this way :)
Our jaws drop as our longtail boat cruising closer to Koh Kradan and the ocean started turning into crazy shades of vivid turquoise blue. No wonder why our resort is called “Sevenseas Resort”. The water is crystal clear we can see white sand underneath the ocean’s floor. As professional island hoppers we are not afraid to say that this is most definitely one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand. We got asked by many of our followers where the under radar, non-touristic, and secluded tropical paradises are? Koh Kradan just made it to that list.
On our trip to Phuket we would like to try something different, we would like to experience Phuket by the nature, in great tranquility, and have peaceful and relaxing vacation far away from Bangkok city life as well as from the buzzing light and sound of Patong and Phuket Town. This is when we found “Ayara Kamala”, secluded ocean front luxurious boutique resort on the west coast. I absolutely love the combination between the touch of Traditional Thai and contemporary ambience. Little perfect sanctuary in Kamala Beach, you couldn’t believe that this is only 20 minutes from Patong. So you really can enjoy the best of both worlds; perfect isolation within the reach of city center.
