Tucked away in one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket and our favorite, Pansea Beach, a nearly-private beach with crystal clear turquoise blue water and golden sands which can only be reached via long-tail boat, or through the two hotels that share this beach, Amanpuri and The Surin. We are so happy to be back here again, this time at The Surin. The surin showcases a serene beachfront location between rolling hills and towering coconut palms, making it hard to believe that it is just 45 minutes from the airport! Our beachfront villa is right in front of the sunset on the beach, we are breathing in all of the gorgeous views!
Upon arrival we are walked into temple-like big open-air pavilions in hexagon shapes featuring with endless pearly white walls, opulent high ceilings, cool grey marble floor, and dramatic stairs leading you down to the picture perfect beachfront hexagonal pool opening onto seriously impressive Andaman Sea Views against all this wonderful towering coconut palm trees.
If you feel just like us that the design and the style are very familiar and recognizable and somehow remind of Amanpuri, you are absolutely right both paradises are owned by Aman as well as graciously designed by the fabulous Paris-based architect, Ed Tuttle, who was commissioned to breathe new life into these fantastic Pansea Hotels. Elements of Western designs and thoughtful touches of Thainess blend beautifully here. East meets West.
Our Beach Front Villa boasts uninterrupted sea view where we can step directly onto the golden sand from our spacious private sun terrace, and that is exactly what we did every single morning. The all-year-long-warm Andaman Ocean water slowly waking us up as the first rays of Sun gently touched our faces. This place is so beautiful from Sunrise to Sunset. As we came out of the water and made our way back to our villa, we saw that our in-room Breakfast has been set up on our private Terrace! Oh lovely, team at The Surin is always one-step ahead of us. Our favorite choices of breakfast are The Surin Granola (House made toasted granola with lady finger banana and honey with yogurt), White Egg Frittata (White egg with organic rocket, fresh cottage cheese, marinated cherry tomato, and pesto sauce), Organic Brown Rice Porridge (With minced pork and fresh ginger), and of course daily doses of fresh fruit juices.
We choose beach picnic for private lunch on the beach! Keeping it fresh, light, and saucy with endless selection of fresh fruits, papaya salad with shrimps, salmon salad, Thai’s local dish of Fresh Mango with Sweet Dipping sauce, BBQ sticks on pineapple, topped with a big jug of freshly pressed watermelon juice. Light yet satisfying lunch leaving us some space for a big dinner today!
It is now 3:00 PM time for our daily dose of bubble bath in our beautiful in-villa tub that is perfect for luxuriating in and then quick power nap in our ultra-comfy bed before our Privately Romantic Beach Dinner –all candlelit dining with Champagne on the beach for two! As the sun was getting low, we made our way to our private dinner, which was setting on the far-left side of the beach, the table is surrounded by fully lit candles making a heart-shape with a fully lit torches walk way against sunset sky. Such a dreamy setting. Food was beautifully decorated and yummy, we loved our Yellow Fin Tuna, Crab Meat Salad, and Australian Black Angus Tenderloin. Other recommended dishes are house-made fettuccini Bolognese, Tartufo Pizza, Pad Thai, Tiramisu, Crème brûlée. We absolutely enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel and we will definitely come back! Until then, enjoy the Crème brûlée for me everyone!
