Capella Bangkok: The Ultimate Staycation. Unparalleled Riverfront Living in The Heart of Bangkok

We have long been a fan of Capella, and the wait is over as the Bangkok property finally made its debut, we booked our stay immediately and we can tell you that Capella is now one of our top 3 all-time favorite hotels in Bangkok. The hotel is located on the luxurious Chaophraya Estate on the banks of the legendary River of Kings (Chaophraya River), the heart and soul of Bangkok.

No corner is without the view of the riverfront framed by floor to ceiling windows from every room to ever restaurant. The verandah suit boasts its very own Jacuzzi plug pool with Bangkok’s skyline and river as its mesmerizing backdrop, making it once of a kind suit to stay in the capital. As we checked in we already thought about our second stay, isn’t that crazy?

The hotel is aesthetically designed with Thai inspired ambience; we love the extra high ceiling, the earth tone marble floor, chic crystal lights, beautiful latticework, and stylish custom-made furniture. As you checked in the living room lounge, a glass of Diamant Brut bottled exclusively for the hotel is served. A refill is also encouraged, what a warm welcome. The process was swifted then we were escorted and whisked into our suite.

The 137 sqm Verandah Suite features this opulently large terrace with grey marble stairway taking you to a private Jacuzzi plug pool, him and her daybeds (ultimately perfect for everyday tanning), the beautiful wooden Sala in front of the pool for you to cool off while sipping champagne as the sun sets. To be honest we must say that the indoor space is relatively small with its king size bed, lounging sofa, and marble bathroom, but the terrace totally made up for it and I would not train our terrace with anything! We have been to so many places and we must stay that we totally felt in love with Capella’s ultra-fluffy hooded bathrobes do not be surprised if you see us wandering around in our villa with them!

Have we told you about the food? We absolutely miss the South of France (and we LOVE Menton) but traveling with 14 days quarantine is not fun. Luckily, Capella Bangkok brought a piece of joy and happiness to all of us at the fingertip from the enchanting shores of d’Azur to the endearing banks of Chao Phraya River! Côte by Mauro Colagreco, the culinary wizard, behind three-Michelin star Mirazur in Menton! Its nine-course tasting menu with the best natural wine pairing is an absolute MUST! Your stay cannot be completed without experiencing its gastronomic glamour and mouthwatering recipes and culinary heritage of the French Riviera.

For me, my favorite dish is absolutely the Cauliflower Risotto topped with Taggiasca Olives, Black garlic, freshly shaved Buddha Fingers, and For Patrick his favorite is Brittany Blue Lobster. Each dish is uniquely paired with organic wine, curated by Capella’s very own Head Sommelier. What took me by surprise is the macaron perfectly accompanied by the red pepper! We absolutely left Cote with a piece of the journey into the Mediterranean!

The night is still young, next stop is Stella Bar, the beautiful art-deco sleek cocktail venue with lovely live jazz music.  The place is completely inspired by Female Heroines from Thailand, India, Japan, and China and its menu says it all! What is not to be missed is the unforgettable dessert Omakase! The very first of its kind in Bangkok! This amazingly crafted menu is definitely nothing that we have seen in Thailand! What a perfect way to end our stay at the property!
