Expanding like a palm embroidered desert oasis of glittering pools, lakes and garden, the resort 54 villas are definitely the hardest place to leave the red city. There are no basic rooms here; the only choices are between the tres-chic suite with heated plunge pool or the opulently lavish pool villa. Just only the best of the very best. La vie est vraiment belle a Marrakech. Of course, we choose nothing but the jaw dropping beauty, the iconic Oriental Pool Villa. Mandarin Oriental Marrakech boasts everything you could ever expect from the top luxury hotel. Carrying such a well-established name, owning a justifiably world-class-services, including two gigantic swimming pools one outdoor and one indoor, fully equipped fitness, a renowned spa inspiring from the oriental heritage blending with the Moroccan location, a variety of tempting restaurant and the beautiful views of snow-capped Atlas Mountains. It is without a doubt, one of the best resorts in Morocco and a fantastic base to explore one of North Africa’s most exciting travel destination. Mandarin Oriental Marrakech is hardly just a resort. It is a destination worth exploring upon itself.

Mandarin Oriental Marrakech has forged a new modern Moroccan style by using the color palette of the Sahara Desert blending with the rich creative heritage of Morocco’s original Berber inhabitants. Our villa is designed after the traditional Moroccan Riad that is enclosed by the rose covered high walls. As the large wooden gate opens the massive outdoor with plush white sofas, the extravagant heated infinity pool with the built-in outdoor Jacuzzi, the full white flower wall of the rambling bougainvillea, the chic outdoor kitchen, the fabulous dining area and the ever more loungers are revealed.

Everything is furnished in Mandarin Oriental’s signature palette of cream and mahogany while incorporating Berber motifs in the form of handwoven rugs and crafted walls. Bathroom in the villa is also to die for, palatially enormous with the circular bathroom clearly made for two, Hamman built-in to the shower, a his and her double vanity a separate dressing room following by another separated make-up vanity, and toilette all in marble. The living room is on the left while the master bedroom is at the center with the sliding doors that open right into the Jacuzzi. It is a fabulous idea to order room service and dine under the stars as a fire roar in the massive outdoor fireplace as we lounge in our comfortable Mandarin Oriental robes, something we did every night.

The Riad is surrounded by the lush 50 acres garden which is unparalleled, there are 500-years-old trees as well as filled with olive groves, over 100,000 of roses with 30 different varieties and colors! The stunning orange and almond trees, and endlessly rambling bougainvillea, just to mentioned a few. It is impossible not to stop and smell all of the Roses; every villa including our own has its own rose color! There is nothing better than waking up to the beautiful birdsongs and smelling 100,000 roses as the dawn is breaking.

And lastly, we must mention the tempting dining venues. The breakfast is served at Shirvan overlooking large mirror-like pools that perfectly reflecting the sunrise. Then the poolside restaurant serves light organic and healthy Mediterranean inspired menus, we absolutely love our grilled seafood lunch so fresh and juicy. Have a fine dine dinner at Shirvan where the respected chef Akrame Benallal will take you on a flavorful world tour on the silk road inspired cuisine with the stunning vistas of palms, pools, and the Atlas Mountains. Finally, for the change of scenery head to the popular Ling Ling by Hakkasan for the modern Cantonese fare and innovative cocktails while a high energy soundtrack pumping in the background.

We had such an unforgettable time at Mandarin Oriental Marrakech, needless to say that we absolutely will be back here. Everything was perfect and unforgettable. We are leaving with our suitcases full of wonderful memories and we are very much looking forward to our next visit with the Mandarin Oriental around the world! See you again soon our dearest Mandarin Oriental.
