Banyan Tree Phuket Oasis of Peace & Tranquility

Along the west coast of Phuket, the most celebrated island on Andaman Sea, lies a lush green tropical resort that features luxurious all-pool villas nested around a beautiful saltwater lagoon and surrounded by the enormous grounds that are richly manicured with whispering coconut trees and lush floral garden. Banyan Tree Phuket is definitely an oasis of peace and tranquillity with world class spa. Upon arrival we were swiftly escorted to our beautifully spacious 1500 sqm Double Pool Villa, with our names both written on the wall! Special touch of attention to detail! As we walked into our villa our jars dropped; our infinity pool was fully and marvelously decorated with countless fresh floating white and pink lotuses. One of the prettiest flower pool decorations we had so far. A tower cake, a bottle of sparkling wine, and a welcome handwritten card from the GM were a warm gesture welcoming us to the property and we knew this is going to be a great 4 days 3 nights stay.

The huge pagoda-style villas are definitely its iconic design with sophisticated traditional Thai décor; featuring peaked roof, sleek teak wood floor, streaks of silk, and hand-painted murals. The villa is called Double Pool Villa for a reason. It has a pool of water surround a glass-encased bedroom in the middle there is a swim-up pool bar kind of table and chairs under water; of course you can actually swim here too, and second we have the private infinity pool that appeared to be seamlessly flown into the lagoon with a serene backdrop of the hotel’s privately owned 18-holes Laguna Golf Phuket. Our secluded villas have a bathroom as big as our bedroom. Living spaces are equally spacious with indoor dining and a separate living with a bar and the beautiful outdoor loungers, suntanning beds, outdoor dining area, outdoor shower, and a private lush green garden with a view of the big lagoon.

The staff at Banyan Tree is always a step ahead of us, we woke up with a beautiful floating freshly made breakfast, my egg Benedict, mouth-watering French toasts and fresh pastries were still hot and my watermelon and orange juices were freshly pressed and served. What could be a better way to start your day than taking a dip into our private infinity and munching away our made to order floating breakfast? To top it off we turn our pool into the Jacuzzi with just one press! Just right on time at Sunset O’clock, Patrick surprised me with a private BBQ dinner in our villa but wait as I turned my jar dropped again our entire pool was fully decorated with flower and not one inch left unturned, if you didn’t look close enough you wouldn’t know that this is the pool, the flowers on top were so dense. So happy to get our very own Bali Flower pool and to be totally honest I think Banyan Tree has the best flower pool decoration ever. I can’t decide which I love better, this one or the floating lotus. They are both insanely stunning! The seafood was so fresh, I absolutely loved everything and all the sauces, I ate until I couldn’t eat no more. At that moment our Chef came in with a fully candles lit delicious chocolate cake and Champagne for my pre birthday celebration, our lovely and thoughtful of the Banyan Tree’s team. And topped it all off with releasing the flying lantern into the sky and watched it disappear into the horizon. What a great evening this one was!

We really enjoyed our time here; absolutely love our lush green Double Pool Villa, riding the bike all day everywhere as well as to the beautiful Bang Tao beach where Banyan Tree has its own beach club for the guests, late night in room dining (you have to try Moo-Hong, the Phuket traditional dish of the caramelised pork, ohh so saucy!), the spa, and all of the excursions. The only downside of the property is the fact that there is no villa with Seaview and that it has no private beach but that good news is you can ride a bike to the beach club or call a buggy. Overall we do really like the place and the service has been flawless and we definitely will come back :) Until then.

Love,

Jybby & Patrick
