“Welcome Back Home” the gentle voices echoed. We looked up and encountered with heartfelt smiles and grins upon the faces of Six Senses Yao Noi team whom warmly welcomed us as we stepped into their private jetty. Among those was my super GEM (Guest Experience Manager) from my previous stay “Pee Kawee” who is now promoted to Assistant Manager but still insist on coming to see us upon arrival and through out our entire (magical) stay. This is how superb and unparalleled service is here. Six Senses will always have our hearts and there is no end to our future returns to this property and our future visits to that of others. The idyllic location in the remote jungle with the million dollar view of James Bond made famous stunning limestone isles rising from the ocean of Phang Nga is unmatched by non others in Thailand and that of South East Asia. This is most certainly the ultimate tropical island dream that one shall experience once in a lifetime. Get ready for luxurious pampering among the great nature where soul soothing is guaranteed. Come with us, this way!
Six Senses Yao Noi Representative escorted us to our black C-Class Mercedes which driven us quickly and smoothly to the Ao Por Grand Marina Pier which is about 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport to catch our boat. At the waiting lounge we were offered welcome drinks, tasty cocktail of our choices. I would highly recommend Piña Colada; tropical paradise is incomplete without pineapple juice and coconut milk. After few juicy drinks we were then accompanied to our boat that decorated in Six Senses manner with built in soft bright green seating, day bed, and matching pillows. Laying on the daybed under the sun, feeling the cool breeze blowing through my hair, and sipping homemade cool lemonade as we cruised along Phanga Bay and headed to the resort private pier. Can’t believe it has been 45 minutes we really got ourselves lost in time while breathing in all the view. We were lovingly welcome back to Six Senses Yao Noi upon our arrival and our personal GEM (Guest Experience Manager) / butler led us to our buggy that has our names and villa number written on it, fine personal touch and great attention to details.
Villa 39, our out-of-this-world Ocean Panorama Pool Villa with the same view as that of Hilltop Reserves. The sign “Welcome Home” that was hanging on the door of our villa describes precisely how we feel each time we return. Stepping through this door and there is no going back. Welcome to paradise, the view is merely just to die for and be prepared to get your breath taken away. All you need to do is gazing to the horizon and drink in the spellbinding view of magnificent turquoise water studded with limestone zeniths, the mesmerizing backdrop of the legendary James Bond’s movie “The Man with The Golden Gun”. This is undoubtedly one of the most miraculous views you will possibly ever witness. Fortunately you can enjoy this unobstructed 180 degrees panorama view of Phanga Bay from your bedroom, spa bathtub made for two, private infinity pool, spacious terrace for alfresco dining area and lounging private sundecks, and double spa pavilion for pampering in-villa massage. The villa is designed using natural material to harmonize the natural landscape and reflect their strong commitment to the environment. Built in local teak wood topped with palm leaf roof nestled into a lush tropical forest facing full view of Andaman Sea resembling luxury tree house with options for both open air or air-conditioned atmosphere. Dip into your private infinity pool that blends seamlessly into those aquamarine calm seas beyond and deep blue sky above. Floating and feeling as if you are swimming off the edge of the horizon.
Six Senses Yao Noi is facing the direction of sunrise; the most magical moment is unquestionably at dawn when you can see the golden sun rising from the ocean. So yes make sure you wake up for that! This is a MUST. The wakeup call can be requested to your personal GEM who devotedly serves your villa around the clock and your wishes are at their command. It is at your most convenient never to leave the resort, there are just too many things to enjoy. I can spend hours selecting perfect pillows for good night sleep from the extensive menu (my favorite is Butterfly Pillow which truly relieves tension from your neck and back through the hourglass shape), trying out those aromatic toiletries that made from natural ingredients no synthetic color or fragrance added (my favorite is lemongrass, sense of tranquility), browsing for the perfect choice from the all-amazing-activities-and-excursions-programs, visiting the resort free range chicken farm and handpick your very own organic eggs for tomorrow’s breakfast, and watching classic movie in the open air beach front under the star kind of theatre “Cinema Paradiso”.
On the day we are feeling adventurous we went on full day island hopping to discover the longing private paradise and the underwater beauty of Koh Hong (the ultimate picturesque lagoon) and Krabi Four Islands (secluded islands and untouched sandbank) via Six Senses luxurious yet traditional longtail boat (best view can be enjoyed while laying on giant daybed made for two with fluffy pillows at the very front of lontail boat). This has been an epic experience tailor made by Six Senses Yao Noi. Highlights of this incredible journey are beating the crowd and paddling the board alone in perfect lagoon of Koh Hong in early morning, having our alfresco picnic lunch on the secret beach with nothing but us against the crystal clear aquamarine water and purely white sand, and feeling like a five years old running freely on the quiet sandbank of Koh Lanta.
On the day we are feeling more relaxed we booked our pampering treatment with Six Senses Spa located in the lush green tropical forest of the resort. Already feeling immersed and rejuvenated as we entered into the spa and walking barefoot into sophisticated tropical hut with the lounging area of cocoon chairs and sofas under beautiful white tent. As the world class spa Six Senses has a long range of beauty and body treatment and using only organic natural spa products incorporate four elements of earth, fire, fire, and air assuring balance of all senses. I am ready to discover pure joy of relaxation through this incredible 2 hours Aroma Therapy massage. Talk to you in a bit after having my stress easing jungle tranquility.
The trip would be incomplete not talking about food. Undeniably everyone’s favorite must be the unlimited all-stay-long “free” homemade ice cream parlor. This is one of our hotspots for hangout with more than 30 flavors to choose from. For sorbet lovers try the exotic tropical fruit mangosteen ice cream (guaranteed that this will be difficult to find else where), for creamy flavored ice cream lovers try vanilla marshmallow and chocolate (super rich and tasty), for those looking for something sweet and sour try passion fruit (non-sorbet one), and lastly for those looking for exotic and oriental flavor go for black sesame. Wonderful breakfast at The Living Room. Wide range of fresh fruit juice and hot dishes. Talking about variety, 30 different types of jam to choose from (for an example)! Hilltop Reserve (the main pool with show stopping view) is also an ideal place for both fine dining and light snack with cocktail hour. You can also book the place privately for either Sunrise Breakfast or Sunset Castaway dinner or why not both. However our favorites are private dinner in our very own ocean panorama villa and our 5 courses welcome dinner at The Dining Room hostly by the lovely Mr. Norman Zweyer of Six Senses Yao Noi. Leverage the spacious terrace and the killer view from your Ocean Panorama and let Six Senses Yao Noi team transform this into an exclusively romantic dinner underneath the candlelights and among the stars. We love organic food and it doesn’t get more delicious than that of The Dining Room. Chef Alex Oddy leads the culinary team in creating superb organic European cuisine using fresh vegetables and herbs grown in Six Senses Yao Noi gardens and that of the island while fish and all seafood are the freshest catch of the day from the water surrounding the resort. All we could have asked for; Great food, good wine, and wonderful companies.
Vacation should be all about returning home with suitcases full of unforgettable meaningful memories. We have greatly overachieved that and would need at least twice as many suitcases as when we arrived in order to pack all these magical/ fantastical moments we shared and cherished at Six Senses Yao Noi. We do not feel sad to leave this paradise as our journey to Six Senses Properties endlessly continues. Now it’s your turn to visit this Barefoot Luxury, Soul Soothing Sanctuary, and Nature as your Playground Paradise. Choose only the best of the very best for yourselves.
Sincerely yours,
Jibbie & Patrick
