Park Hyatt Saigon: Ho Chi Mihn City At Its Best

park-hyatt-saigon_parklounge

A truly true five-star journey always begins with an airport pick-up and Park Hyatt Saigon did nothing but constantly exceeding our expectations; starting with our chauffeur, Mr. M.Y. welcoming us on board to our private black S-Class Mercedes. Park Hyatt Saigon rises nine stories above District 1, city’s most expensive address, flanked by top designer boutiques including Christian Dior, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta, Jimmy Choo, and Christian Louboutin and just few steps from Saigon’s main tourist attractions and iconic landmarks such as the Saigon Opera House, the Central Post office, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Reunification Palace, the Fine Arts Museum, and Ben Thanh market. Built with elegant French-Grand-Colonial-Era-Ambiance making Park Hyatt Saigon blended in perfectly with its historical landmark neighbors as if it has always been there. Park Hyatt Saigon is undoubtedly the ultimate luxurious hotel in Ho Chi Minh City with the afternoon high teas under sparking crystal chandeliers and soaring ceiling of the elegant Park Lounge, a soothing escape in the beautiful outdoor swimming pool tucked away from the city’s bustle and hustle in a spacious landscaped garden, world class spa treatment at Xuan, Italian Alfresco Dining at Opera, and tasty signature cocktails at this Tres Chic bar and Saigon’s nightlife hotspot “2 Lam Son Bar”.

This is our second time in Vietnam and the first time in Ho Chi Minh City (also known as Saigon). The city completely took us by surprise and caught us off guard with its distinctive charm; an urban metropolitan yet rich in history and heritage. As our S-Class smoothly chauffeuring us around town we see the perfect blend between ultra modern skyscrapers and well preserved colonial style buildings, the right chemistry of east meets west. This iconic hotelier has also welcomed Hollywood A-List Superstars such as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to Ho Chi Minh City in 2007 when they decided to adopt their son Pax Thien. Making it unquestionable that their service is nothing less than a World Class and second to none. Upon arrival without any delay we were directly escorted to our Park Suite where we did our swift check-in.

Our spacious 70 square meters Park Suite King is on the top floor. Our Parisian floor to ceiling white wooden window frames reveal the city view overlooking Saigon Skyline and that of the hotel pool. It also features a separate living room with mini kitchen, all-in-white-marble bathroom with bathtub made foe two and the walk-in rain shower, and a spacious master bedroom.  Park Hyatt’s attention to detail can be seen through its sophisticated design, elegant handcrafted master pieces, sleek wooden floor with custom-design carpet, extra plush feather pillows on the finest linen king-size bed, the custom hand written welcome card from hotel management team, a bottle of French red wine, and my ultimate favorite – an endless soft pink roses beautifully put into vases throughout the suite. Everything is truly designed to make you fell at home even in their luxurious surroundings.

The classic yet elegance color palette of White, Gold, and Ivory is running consistently through our suite to the rest of the hotel, making a radiant glow and bright ambience to any of those stepping into the property. The lobby and the Park Lounge are opulent with extra high ceiling and crystal chandeliers sparkling warm sunlight shining through the floor to ceiling glass window shutters. Saturday is the best to enjoy High Tea at Park Hyatt Saigon as it offers The Iconic French-Inspired Afternoon Tea accompanied by live performance and sound of smooth Jazz. We do recommend you to leave extra room for their fluffy and freshly made macaron; our favorite flavors being caramel, raspberry, vanilla, and green tea. Our go to drinks are the ultra creamy and ultra rich blueberry smoothies and lemon grass tea.

From sunrise to sunset, this beautiful outdoor garden pool is open for your dipping pleasure. Take a walk through the garden, pass the private cabanas into the sun deck with lounge chairs and tanning shelves, and then you will find the waterfall mosaic-tiled pool nestled in the lush green private garden with the beautiful glass pool house as your backdrop. With this serene tranquility it is hard to believe that the swimming pool is just few levels above the busy streets of Lam Son Square. The best time to enjoy the pool by yourselves is from sunrise to 9.00 AM. So that is exactly what we did and in-suite breakfast dining followed. The go-to dish is nothing but the mouth watering “Lobster Linguini”, I really just couldn’t have enough of it. If you are, like us, feeling more adventurous we highly recommend you to take a city tour in style with Park Hyatt S-Class Mercedes to cruise through the sunset and witness the whole city lights up as the day turning into night. On roll down all of the windows, open the sun roof, and embrace yourselves to the lights, the sounds, and the vibe of Saigon. Our lovely chauffeur Mr. M.Y. drove us around for the city tour through local sidewalks from Saigon Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, the City Hall, Bitexo Financial Tower, and to Reunification Palace.

There is no better way to end the night that swinging by 2 Lam son Bar for a great night out, it is one of Saigon’s hottest nightspots. Even if you are not staying at Park Hyatt Saigon, we highly recommend you to take a peek at this place yourself. We absolutely love this sexy and stylish contemporary bar (a stunning example of east-meets-west) that is all lit up by endless glass bauble lights hanging on its high ceiling. 2 Lam Son bar has signature cocktails that we can never seem to recommend enough; 2 Lam Son Cocktail (the sensational strawberry & lychee mojito) and Saigon Martini. Grab a table facing the floor to ceiling glass window so you can watch the lively street of Saigon while you unwind with a refreshing signature cocktails with live DJ music in your background.  We had such a wonderful time for our very first time in Saigon and sure to be back. Park Hyatt Saigon is most definitely one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, a true luxury colonial property. The location of the hotel is unbeatable, set in Lam Son Square of the extravagant District 1, within walking distance to city’s landmarks, main tourist attractions, shopping, and entertainment, making it a perfect home base to explore this Vietnamese Historical Capital.
