Hotel Muse Penthouse: The Golden Age of Travel

We have been such big fans of Hotel Muse, being spell bounded by its irresistible 1920 The Great Gatsby Charm. This remarks our 3rd stay at Hotel Muse, and it doesn’t get any better than 3 days 2 nights stay at the property’s crown jewel; Paranim Penthouse. As I entered this astonishingly luxurious penthouse, The Golden Age of Travel begins. History comes alive to me. You know, back then to the lavish era when people used to fully dress up and carrying Louis Vitton suitcases for travel, guests were treated like loyalty, haute cuisine was served in matching cutlery silverware with wine pairing, and every comfort and requirement was catered to. This place has it all and I would be lying if I say this place does not inspire me to dress up in the dazzling 20s grace. Now I am ready to be pampered in pure vintage luxury at this extravagantly magnificent 216 square meters penthouse. Travel in style and come fly away with me to this Très Chic Bangkok Haven.

Standing tall among modern five-star hotels, Hotel Muse certainly stands out from its crowd. You can feel that there is something special about this place simply by just looking at it. 25-storeys with classic contemporary design and the atmosphere of over the top opulence crowned by 5 cupolas at its rooftop. It would fit perfectly with Manhattan’s skyline of classic buildings. Exquisite furnishings combining usage of marble and leather, indulging mystique art deco styled interior, and seductive dimming light enriched the vibe of old fashioned elegance and timeless sophistication. Upon check in Refreshing welcome drinks that comes in series of 4 small glasses of lychee juice, mojito, grape juice, and were given to us. Uninformed bellboys took our luggage to the penthouse. Less than 5 minutes the check in process was smoothly completed and we were escorted to our Paranim Penthouse. Feeling so wonderful to be back.

The idea of penthouse apartment was born in 1920s being referring to the “Roaring Twenties”. Being art deco styled, this one of a kind uber glamorous penthouse is roaring loud and clear. Boasting its impeccable design and attention to detail, extra spacious lounging and living area of 216 square meters including three large terraces (Yes that’s right! Three!), king sized bedroom and ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi built for 2 (where we enjoyed the bubble bath while having glittering Bangkok skyline as our backdrop), dedicated spa room, lofty living area, grand dining seating 8 guests, fully equipped kitchen and bar, separate guest bathroom, and separate maid entrance. Extra refined touches can be seen through marvelous carving floor to ceiling, monogrammed bed linen and amenities, the golden telescopes, and the amazingly stylish drawers are made of stack of glamorous vintage leather suitcases. Can I live here forever? This place really takes you back to the nostalgic 1920s, the exuberant era. It is so perfect and I am not afraid to say that this is definitely one of few places in Bangkok that allows you to experience the city at its most flamboyant.

Your stay cannot be completed without experiencing the 24th – 25th floor rooftop bar “Speak Easy” and dining among Chicago most notorious gangsters with glitz, glams, and all that jazz at Babette’s steakhouse on 19th floor. As you entered Speak Easy you would think you walk into the set of “Boardwalk Empire” TV series. Speak easy features fancy cigar room, alfresco terrace bar, rooftop lawn bar boasting best city view, and private room where signature cocktails will ease you into sundown with bright city lights of Bangkok twinkling from every corner. Your 1920s experience at Hotel Muse, can not be fully accomplished without dining at The 1920s Chicago Style Steakhouse “Babette’s”. It is beautifully decorated with chandelier draped in see though muted fabric, chequered floors, leather upholstered armchairs, and paneled walls. Only if Al Capone, O’Banion, or the rest of Chicago notorious mobsters were still alive this is most certainly will be there favorite place to dine in Bangkok. Popping champagne, savouring the finest imported steak, and glazing at your backdrop of glittering Bangkok while swing to the sound of live jazz and blue. We are absolutely obsessed with our 5 courses gourmet private dinner with French wine pairing at O’Banion dining room. My eyes widely opened as I was sipping wine Sommelier Peter has paired with courses. The flavors and aromas go so perfectly and so smoothly with every single one of our dish. Often enough you will find that wine in Thailand is either over price overrated due to high taxation. This is certainly not the case and I highly recommended you to go with food with wine pairing! An absolute eatery sensation is with their Wagyu that has rich taste and smooth texture and their pan seared salmon filter for those of you who are non beef eater.

It has been an enchanting weekend splendidly spent traveling back in time to 1920s at Hotel Muse. We absolutely obsess with our Paranim Penthouse, it is so perfectly designed and styled in everyway. Though there are few other elite upscale penthouses and suites, no one can beat the magical, the fantastical, and the incredibly spacious three terraces (And They got three! That’s right! Three!) of Paranim Penthouse. As we are packing our suitcases, we are already looking forward to our 4th stay with Hotel Muse. “Au Revoir Ma Belle! J’espère Te Revoir Très Vite!” <3
